phantomgirl110 Despite the fact that Emmy has become unspeakably boring and we haven't had anything interesting to post about here for months, an Emmy fan has taken it upon herself to rise up against us: e_bashing_sucks. I'd quote a bit from her first post, but it's nothing we all haven't heard before. I'm mostly posting because I find it amusing that this has happened so long after the Great Emmy Troll Wars of...whatever year that was. This one's missed the meme by at least two years. And here I thought Emmy fans only bothered picking fights with each other these days...

Emmy Rossum to star in Showtime pilot
Allison Janney, Justin Chatwin also land roles in 'Shameless'

Emmy Rossum is set as the lead opposite William H. Macy in "Shameless," John Wells' drama pilot for Showtime.

Additionally, Allison Janney has signed on for a key recurring role, reuniting with her "West Wing" executive producer Wells. And Justin Chatwin has been cast in the pilot from Warner Bros. TV/John Wells Prods.

Based on the long-running British series by top U.K. TV writer Paul Abbott, "Shameless" revolves around the Gallaghers, a working-class Chicago clan dealing with the recession. The mother is AWOL, and the alcoholic patriarch (Macy) usually ends up passed out on the living room floor, so their smart but unpredictable 18-year-old daughter Fiona (Rossum) is tasked with keeping her five younger brothers and sisters on the straight and narrow.

Janney plays a pivotal character that will become a love interest for Macy.

Chatwin will play Steve, a car thief who falls in love with Fiona.

Mark Mylod is directing the pilot from a script by Abbott and Wells.

Rossum's breakthrough came in 2004 when she starred in "The Day After Tomorrow" and "The Phantom of the Opera"; the latter earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

She most recently starred opposite Chatwin in "Dragonball: Evolution." Rossum is repped by ICM and BenderSpink. Chatwin, repped by UTA and Alchemy, also co-starred in "War of the Worlds."

Janney, who won four Emmys for her supporting role on "Wing," worked with Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt for the past two years on the Broadway production of "9 to 5," which she headlined and he produced. Janney is repped by Paradigm and Thruline.

William H. Macy is in it! Maybe it'll actually be okay??

Perez Hilton is not a very reliable source, but that would explain why Emmy has been hanging out with the Counting Crows so much lately.

4:52 am - Official trailer for a movie that may or may not be about a threesome

evil_girraffe
Hey, Emmy's actually attached to a movie for the first time in 5 years that might not be a total flop. Too soon to tell if she's learned to act yet.

My favorite part is the emo lipstick across the neck angst.

This dress is weird.

Of all the dresses she has worn, imho this one is the absolute WORST! The shape of it is so unflattering! And her face looks so flat for some reason!

Emmy's in the September/October edition of Philadelphia Style Magazine.

Pictures and text under the cut. Make sure to grab a barf bag; the article is full of gushing, along with the typical pretentiousness we've come to expect from Emmy.

11:52 pm - Emmy and Justin split up?

baglady25

Emmy Rossum and her boyfriend, Justin Siegel, have reportedly gone their separate ways.

“They’ve been in a very tumultuous relationship,” an insider tells Life & Style. “They lived together for more than two years. It was close to marriage and I don’t think she wanted to be tied down this early in her career, and though she’d never say that - that’s the reason for the split. Emmy’s really sad right now, it caught her by surprise.”

Sad, but I didn't know people cared enough to blabber to gossip rags. PS, the comments over at the source are worth a read LOL

Hey there, all.

I stumbled upon this community while looking up some stuff of The Phantom of the Opera and Gerard Butler.

I am somewhat of an Emmy Rossum fan, so I was curious to see why a lot of people would dislike her so much. She seemed to me to be the type of person that, as most of you put it, was too "doe-eyed and innocent" to have people actually dislike her.

I'm not one of those fans who gets completely blinded by their "love" for a celebrity that they'll go crazy when someone says anything bad about them. I read back through some of the entries, and a lot of them made sense, made valid points, and were just generally funny. It opened my eyes to some of the things about Emmy Rossum that I didn't know.

I'll still continue to be a fan and listen to her music, but for some reason I like reading these posts.
Go figure =]

Anyway, I though some of you might enjoy these recent pics of Emmy.

Emmy swims on the deep end of the wading pool:

  1. Ok. That's enough deep tweeting for a century. Shouldn't I tell you what I had for breakfast or something now?about 8 hours ago from web
  2. I guess it all seems pretty easy and logical, but sometimes you need to see it really happen to someone you know in life to believe.about 8 hours ago from web
  3. and changed their position to one of coming from love and positivity and support.about 8 hours ago from web
  4. they had gone from operating from a place of competition, jealously, negativity, and essentially fear...about 8 hours ago from web
  5. NOW THE POINT (finally, ha!) of the conversation was about how this person who I hadn't seen in a while had made a big change in their lifeabout 8 hours ago from web
  6. so whatever we naturally put out there is then touching everyone else and therefore spreading and perpetuating whatever feelings we harborabout 9 hours ago from web
  7. also, if we feel as if we are solitary beings, yet at the same time we are all connected to everything and everyone by the atoms in the airabout 9 hours ago from web
  8. and that is essentially what you are and what you become. that what is going to seep out of who you are and affect other people around you.about 9 hours ago from web
  9. so the more negativity, positivity, love, resentment, fear, or whatever it is that you viscerally, honestly feel, makes up what's inside youabout 9 hours ago from web
  10. similarly when you squeeze a person or put them under pressure, what comes out? what's inside.about 9 hours ago from web
  11. example, this person compared a human to an orange. (this person obv likes oranges!) when you squeeze an orange, what comes out? the juice.about 9 hours ago from web
  12. you give the people you interact with the feelings that essentially make up what's inside you.about 9 hours ago from web
  13. the same would apply to love or hate or fear or negativity.about 9 hours ago from web
  14. I have to have a bag of oranges in order to give it to you, I can't give you something I don't have.about 9 hours ago from web
  15. the person speaking used a metaphor, a bag of oranges. if you want a bag of oranges, and i want to give you that bag of oranges...about 9 hours ago from web
  16. ..and how the sentiments that we carry and the history we have is essentially what we're made of. it made sense to me when i heard it.about 9 hours ago from web
  17. there r a few different ideas but 1 that crystalized for me was essentially about positivity(i'm not going all "the secret" on u,dont worry)about 9 hours ago from web
  18. 2 all who asked- this is gonna be rather deep for a tweet. forewarned if forearmed so ignore these tweets now if you're not down with it.about 9 hours ago from web

6:40 pm - Emmy in new movie?

courtney_bella
I read at JJJ--Just Jared Jr.--that Emmy may have gotten a role opposite Robert Pattinson--of Twilight fame, obviously--in his new movie, 'Remember Me'. They were apparently seen leaving the same Venice, Calif. studio, each with a script and CD. What do you guys think? I'm thinking a big 'NO', but then again, I think Emmy's a terrible actress, so to see her again in a movie isn't on my list of things I want to see.

11:33 pm - Dragonball reviews pouring in...
ianpetrarch ....Ok, we all know the movie sucks worse than a weasel, but it's time to have some fun just seeing how bad the reviews are...

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/dragonball/

Lord, I love the fact that some reviews are so bad that they don't even go into describing anything about the film.

There's something spectacular about this, it's the act of seeing a trainwreck and not being able to look away...

We've been advertising this at work for a little while. Fathom Events will be showing The Audition, a documentary about auditioning at The Met and it's hosted by Renee Fleming. I know there are some opera and/or Renee Fleming fans here, so I thought I'd pass it on.

So Emmy dressed casually as always and went to the nail salon!!! I wonder how she managed to find the time, seeing how busy she is and all! And why is she so happy to have her picture taken? It's not like she's desperately trying to stay relevant or anything!
